PMS Migration

Tech Stack

PMS migration is the process of moving a hotel from one property management system to another, including transferring reservations, guest profiles and rates, retraining staff and reconnecting every integrated tool in the stack.

In practice

A migration typically runs in phases. Data export and cleaning, parallel testing, integration cutover and go-live, often timed for a low occupancy period. Future reservations and guest history are the most critical data sets to carry over correctly.

The most common failure is underestimating integrations. Every connected system, from the channel manager to door locks and payment terminals, needs to be reconnected and tested. Hotels should demand a written cutover plan and keep read access to the old system for a transition period.
