Connectivity / API

Tech Stack

An API (Application Programming Interface) is the standardized way two software systems exchange data automatically. In hotel tech, connectivity refers to how well a PMS, channel manager, RMS and other tools share reservations, rates and guest data.

In practice

Open, well documented APIs let a hotel assemble a best-of-breed stack instead of being locked into one vendor's suite. Typical integrations move reservations, availability, rates, guest profiles and payment tokens between systems without manual re-entry.

Not all integrations are equal. Some are real-time and two-way, others are nightly batch files dressed up as integrations. Hotels should ask what data flows, in which direction, how often, and what happens when the connection fails, before signing any contract.
