Guest Journey

Guest Experience

The guest journey is the full sequence of interactions a guest has with a hotel, from discovery and booking through pre-arrival, stay and post-stay, used as a framework to design communication, service and technology around moments rather than departments.

In practice

Mapping the journey exposes gaps departments do not see, the guest who books on an OTA, receives nothing until arrival, queues at the desk and is asked for a review by a template email experiences the hotel as fragmented, whoever owns each piece.

Teams use journey maps to place the right message, offer or automation at each stage, confirmation, pre-arrival upsell, in-stay messaging, post-stay review request. The test of a good journey design is that each touchpoint feels helpful at that moment, not extractive.
