Two-way sync is an integration pattern where two systems both send and receive updates from each other, so reservations, rates and availability stay identical in both. It is the standard hotels should demand between PMS and channel manager.
In a two-way setup, a booking made on an OTA lands in the PMS automatically, and a rate change in the PMS propagates out to every channel. One-way connections only push or only pull, leaving staff to close the loop manually.
The practical test is simple. Change a rate in one system and watch whether it appears in the other within minutes. Sync delays and silent failures are a leading cause of overbookings and rate disparities, so monitoring and error alerts matter as much as the connection itself.
