Price intelligence is the analysis layer built on top of rate shopping data, turning raw competitor prices into insights such as market positioning, demand signals and pricing opportunities for specific dates and room types.
Where a rate shopper answers what competitors charge, price intelligence answers what to do about it. Tools highlight dates where the hotel is priced far from its usual position, detect competitors closing out inventory and estimate market demand pressure.
The value depends on interpretation. A competitor's high price may reflect strong demand or a mistake, and closed availability may mean sold out or a technical error. Treating these signals as hints to investigate, rather than orders to obey, is what separates good use from noise.
