Parity Monitoring

Revenue & Pricing

Parity monitoring is the automated surveillance of a hotel's own prices across OTAs, metasearch and its website to detect rate disparities, especially cases where third parties undercut the hotel's direct price.

In practice

Disparities often originate in wholesale rates leaking to unauthorized resellers, currency rounding, or OTAs funding discounts themselves. Monitoring tools capture screenshots and price evidence per channel and date so the hotel can trace the source and act.

Undercutting hurts most on metasearch, where guests see the hotel's direct price side by side with a cheaper reseller. Persistent leaks typically trace back to a wholesaler contract, and fixing the contract does more than fighting each symptom individually.
