MinLOS (minimum length of stay) is a booking restriction requiring guests to stay at least a set number of nights when their stay includes a specific date. It protects high-demand dates from being consumed by short stays.
During a sold-out event, one-night bookings fragment the calendar and block longer, more valuable reservations. A MinLOS over the peak forces multi-night patterns and typically lifts total revenue for the period even if a few short-stay requests are turned away.
The risk is overusing it. A MinLOS left active after demand softens silently suppresses bookings, and nobody sees the reservations that never happened. Restrictions deserve expiry dates and regular review, exactly like prices do.
