Book Direct (Strategy)

Marketing & Distribution

Book direct is the strategy of persuading guests to reserve on the hotel's own website instead of an OTA, using visible advantages such as member rates, flexible conditions, added perks and a booking experience that removes friction.

In practice

Effective programs make the direct advantage concrete at the decision moment. Price comparison widgets, exclusive perks like free breakfast or late checkout, and closed member rates give guests a specific reason, while a fast mobile checkout removes the excuse to leave.

Slogans alone do not shift behavior. If the OTA is cheaper, easier or more trusted, guests book there regardless of banners. The strategy stands on parity control, real perks with perceived value and remarketing to previous guests, measured by direct share of total bookings.
