A/B Testing

Marketing & Distribution

A/B testing shows two versions of a page or element to different visitor groups simultaneously and measures which converts better. It replaces opinions about website changes with evidence from real guest behavior.

In practice

Typical hotel tests cover booking engine steps, rate presentation, imagery and calls to action. Traffic is split randomly, results are compared statistically, and the winning variant becomes the new baseline for the next test.

Small hotels face a volume problem, low traffic means tests need weeks to reach reliable conclusions. Testing big visible changes rather than button shades, and being patient enough to avoid declaring winners early, keeps the practice honest at modest traffic levels.
