GRI (Global Review Index)

Guest Experience

The GRI (Global Review Index) is an aggregated online reputation score, popularized by ReviewPro, that combines review ratings from many platforms into a single percentage, allowing benchmarking over time and against competitive sets.

In practice

The index normalizes different rating scales and weights sources to produce one comparable number per property. Chains use it to compare hotels in a portfolio, and independents to track their standing against the local comp set quarter by quarter.

Like any composite, it hides detail, a stable GRI can mask cleanliness scores falling while location scores rise. Pairing the headline index with category-level and topic-level analysis turns it from a vanity number into a management tool.
